We are currently in search of a driven Mechanical Engineer to become a vital member of our Research & Development team.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a progressive team that is dedicated to advancing Agilent's leading liquid chromatography products from concept to implementation.

Based at Agilent's premier Dissolution Centre of Excellence, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our chromatography and dissolution sectors. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical solutions for next-generation laboratory detectors and instruments.
  • Coordinate the construction of prototypes to validate concepts and assess feasibility.
  • Create and evaluate technical schematics while managing the bill of materials.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to design and procure necessary components.
  • Lead and participate in technical design evaluations throughout Agilent's product lifecycle.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams during the development process to ensure that product designs align with customer expectations.
  • Diagnose and analyze technical challenges thoroughly to identify root causes and propose effective solutions.

Qualifications

We are looking for a motivated candidate with the following qualifications:

  • A University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in designing, constructing, and testing new products within an R&D setting, adhering to industry and engineering standards.
  • Proficiency in 3D parametric CAD modeling software, preferably Siemens Nx CAD.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and FMEA principles is preferred.
  • Experience in designing optical systems is advantageous.
  • Project management experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Agilent's liquid chromatography or dissolution instruments is a significant plus.
