Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education in Grimsby, Lincoln. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve their full potential.

Job Summary:

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work alongside an experienced and enthusiastic team, providing both 1:1 and group support to children with special educational needs. You will assist with delivering tailored learning plans and help create a positive, engaging atmosphere in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with a range of SEN needs, including Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Work closely with class teachers to deliver personalized learning programs.
  • Assist in creating a positive learning environment that fosters student engagement.
  • Help manage behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and productive classroom atmosphere.
  • Provide support during lessons, as well as during unstructured times like lunch breaks.
Requirements:
  • Have experience working within a school setting.
  • Have experience working with children and/or adults with learning difficulties including ADHD, SEMH and ASC.
  • Have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs, or a willingness to learn.
  • Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant in a special needs school.
  • Have the ability to engage pupils in their learning and support them in their social, emotional and personal wellbeing.
