About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of dietitians working across Hertfordshire, with a range of specialties including paediatrics, neurology, and home enteral feeding. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other trusts and stakeholders, providing dietetic care to patients in Hertfordshire.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing a clinical inpatient caseload and designated outpatient clinics for patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments of patients, making clinical judgments on complex dietetic problems and formulating individualized management and treatment plans.
  • Providing advice on nutritional supplementation as needed, utilizing a real-food approach.
  • Liaising with healthcare professionals, including speech and language therapy, nursing, and medical teams, to ensure effective patient care.
  • Contributing to service development opportunities, such as reviewing and creating patient literature and nutrition resources, and participating in clinical governance meetings.
  • Providing supervision, feedback, and training to student dietitians.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A BSc Nutrition & Dietetics degree or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Experience and Knowledge

The successful candidate will have:

  • Evidence of a clinical portfolio in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of dietetic practice.
  • IT literacy.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to lifelong learning.
