Job Title: Engineering Technician

AG Barr is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to join our team. As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring maximum equipment availability and reliability through completion of scheduled Planned Maintenance activities and providing timely reactive support to technical issues across site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake planned preventative and corrective maintenance across all equipment on the site, recommending improvements to ensure efficiencies are maximized.
  • Diagnose problems and implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence, working closely with equipment users to understand the issues and implement sustainable remedial solutions.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement changes where appropriate.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with safe working practices and factory hygiene standards.
  • Produce detailed written reports as required, including downtime sheets and line log books.
Requirements:
  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in a Mechanical/Electrical engineering discipline.
  • ONC/BTEC Level 3 or equivalent Mechanical/Electrical engineering discipline.
  • Time served/Apprentice trained.
  • 18th Edition IEE regulations certification desirable.
  • Previous experience of working in an Engineering/Maintenance department, preferably within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Ability to fault find, diagnose, and correct Electrical and Mechanical equipment faults and implement appropriate measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of initiating and implementing continuous improvements, lean manufacturing, and Six sigma techniques.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems and PLCs, preferably Siemens.
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, and the ability to spot discrepancies and inaccuracies with ease.
  • Problem-solver, with a tenacious and creative approach to finding solutions.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Proactive and positive can-do attitude.
