About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our nuclear safety team, you will play a vital role in assessing risks for our nuclear clients and helping them achieve their low-carbon energy ambitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team to produce hazards assessments and author complex safety cases to justify critical decision-making in the design, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities.
  • Influence client strategic direction to support obtaining a nuclear site license for innovative designs, network to develop business pipelines, and present technical information to regulators.
  • Work with diverse clients from defense, nuclear generation, and new build, including innovative players from the fusion and SMR markets.
  • Deliver technical projects, address complex problems, and present solutions to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and learn from the wider technical community, taking advantage of global expertise to foster collaboration within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers to support growth and improve project delivery capabilities.
