Position Overview

The Specialist Group is on the lookout for a skilled Cost Consultant to oversee a significant joinery fit-out initiative for a high-profile client. This position demands outstanding organizational capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in managing financials and contracts to deliver superior outcomes within the designated timeframe and budget.

Core Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight:

  • Develop comprehensive financial plans and forecasts for joinery fit-out projects.
  • Track project expenditures, analyzing actual costs against projections and financial plans.
  • Oversee and regulate all monetary aspects of the project, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.

Contract Management:

  • Draft and evaluate contractual documents, including bills of quantities, tenders, and claims.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual stipulations and manage any necessary modifications.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to guarantee adherence to contractual commitments.

Assessment and Compensation:

  • Conduct frequent site inspections to evaluate progress and prepare assessments for interim payments.
  • Authorize payments to subcontractors and manage the resolution of final accounts.
  • Deliver precise and timely updates on project assessments and financials to stakeholders.

Risk Assessment:

  • Identify potential financial and contractual risks and formulate strategies for mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and standards throughout the project.

Client Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary liaison for the client concerning financial and contractual issues.
  • Ensure that client expectations are met, providing regular updates on financial status and project advancement.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Cost Consultant in the joinery fit-out sector or a related field.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities with a strong focus on detail.
  • Capability to juggle multiple responsibilities and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in cost management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
