About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join our in-house legal team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth operation of our professional services business by providing expert legal guidance on a wide range of commercial contracts.

Your Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and draft a variety of commercial agreements with clients, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and public-sector framework agreements.
  • Provide legal counsel on contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and other third parties.
  • Continuously review and refine our standard terms of business to reflect best practices and mitigate potential risks.
  • Advise on a diverse range of commercial contracting matters, such as local-country adoption contracts for global framework agreements, agreements with member firms of Grant Thornton International Limited, data-sharing arrangements, secondment agreements, and software supply contracts.
  • Interpret and explain contractual provisions to colleagues within the firm, ensuring clear understanding and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in our Office of the General Counsel and risk management team to deliver comprehensive legal advice to partners, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced contracting lawyers, providing valuable feedback and development opportunities.
  • Identify emerging trends in legal and commercial risks faced by the firm, recommending strategies for mitigation and improvement of internal processes and templates.
  • Contribute to the education of colleagues across the firm on legal and commercial risk issues through training programs and guidance materials.

Your Profile

We are seeking a qualified solicitor or barrister with proven experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. You possess a strong understanding of relevant legal principles and best practices, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a team environment are essential for success in this role.
