Job Summary:

The Oldham Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Manager to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our school facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the school premises are clean, safe, and secure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization throughout the school premises.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the school facilities are in good working order.
  • Supervise and manage a small team of cleaning staff and external contractors.
  • Monitor and maintain health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Manage and maintain inventory and supplies, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the overall maintenance and upkeep of the school facilities.
  • Collaborate with the Headteacher and other stakeholders to ensure the school's facilities meet the needs of students, staff, and the community.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage a small team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and external contractors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve maintenance and operational issues.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work a split shift, including early mornings and evenings, and will be expected to be on call for emergency maintenance issues.
