About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at an independent specialist school in Leicester. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students with autism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning activities for groups and individual students
  • Work under the direction and supervision of a HLTA/teacher to support the academic and social development of students
  • Undertake additional responsibilities such as cover supervision, coaching, and mentoring
  • Lead extracurricular activities with limited supervision (optional)
  • Attend SLT meetings to contribute to strategic development (optional)
About You

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about education and dedicated to making a positive impact. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in planning, evaluating, and delivering learning activities
  • Previous work with children, youth, and families in educational settings
  • Comprehensive understanding of child protection, health, safety procedures, and policies
  • Familiarity with educational frameworks, ICT for learning support
  • Proficient in curriculum implementation, child development, and SEND Code of Practice
