The National Citizen Service Trust (NCS) envisions a society filled with connected, confident, and compassionate individuals who feel a sense of belonging.

Over the past decade, more than 700,000 young individuals have participated in NCS, contributing over 15 million hours to community-focused social initiatives and acquiring invaluable life skills.

NCS provides a variety of experiences aimed at empowering young people to become prepared for the world and the workforce by enhancing their confidence, independence, and skill sets, while also encouraging them to make a positive impact in their communities and society at large.

Overview of NCS 'Open to All and Targeted' Community Initiatives:
With funding from NCS Trust, Groundwork South is dedicated to offering year-round activities for young individuals aged 16-17.

These initiatives will be accessible locally and will allow participants to engage in up to three 16-hour Community Experiences, designed to be enjoyable and enriching, providing a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

A primary focus is to enhance the availability of our offerings to underserved youth and to gain insights into effective strategies for these groups.

Our Community Experiences align with four key objectives:

  • Fostering life skills and promoting independent living;
  • Enhancing employability and readiness for the workforce;
  • Facilitating social interaction among young people from diverse backgrounds.

As the NCS Youth Engagement Coordinator, you will be instrumental in ensuring the effective execution of each Community Experience.

Your role will involve leading and motivating groups of young individuals aged 16 to 17.

This position is both rewarding and challenging, allowing you to make a significant difference in the lives of young people.

To succeed in this role, prior experience in youth engagement and program coordination is essential.

Throughout the program, you will collaborate closely with existing Groundwork initiatives, as well as staff from educational institutions and local youth organizations.

The Youth Project Manager and Team Leader will provide support in the coordination and implementation of NCS.

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about youth work, delivering impactful programs, and providing pastoral care to young people while addressing any safeguarding issues with your Team Leader.

As the NCS Youth Engagement Coordinator, you will be expected to participate in the full duration of one or more 16-hour Community Experiences, working evenings and weekends to facilitate NCS delivery.

Locations for NCS activities will vary, and travel flexibility is a requirement.
