Join Thames Water as the Quality & Environmental Lead

We are looking for a dedicated professional to take charge of our management systems within a small team. This role is essential for ensuring that our operational practices align with legal and regulatory standards while continuously improving our systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the external certification processes for our management systems, ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and permit requirements.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to pinpoint opportunities for integration and enhancements that align with business objectives and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead both internal and external audits, crafting audit programs, executing audits, and addressing any non-conformities.
  • Facilitate organizational learning from non-conformances to prevent future occurrences and maintain action-tracking systems.
  • Conduct the annual management review meeting, provide expert guidance on management systems, deliver training sessions, and assist with regulatory inquiries.
This position offers a hybrid work model, with flexibility to work from various locations as needed.

Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday; part-time and job share options are available.

Requirements:
  • A degree in a STEM-related field or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Familiarity with management systems and ISO Standards (Asset Management, Quality, Environmental).
  • Experience in planning and executing internal audits.
  • Proficient in coordinating and leading external ISO audits.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Previous experience in the water industry or related utilities is preferred.

  • Competitive salary range of £44,000 - £55,000, based on experience.
  • 26 days of annual leave, increasing to 30 with service length, plus bank holidays.
