Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our community-based therapy team in South Molton. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice to patients and their carers. Your caseload will include a wide range of acute and chronic care cases, many with complex disabilities and needs.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team in a community setting, providing integrated therapy input into patients' overall care plans. You will work autonomously, with minimal supervision, and at times, lone working. You will also provide supervision, training, and support to junior staff and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice to patients and their carers.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a community setting.
  • Ensure therapy input is integrated into patients' overall care plans.
  • Provide supervision, training, and support to junior staff and students.
  • Work with managers to develop the service in line with patient need and trust-wide developments.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience as a Specialist Occupational Therapist in a community setting.
  • Strong assessment and treatment skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
