About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our Application Support team at Coventry Building Society. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in providing technical expertise and support to our product teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical knowledge and expertise to support complex production incidents and troubleshoot issues with other technical teams.
  • Collaborate with product teams to deliver work and run small projects to resolve ITIL defined service problems.
  • Allocate tasks to colleagues and ensure completion of work to agreed quality criteria and timescales.
  • Act as a role model within the team, providing mentoring and coaching to peers and junior team members.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of systems management procedures in a large commercial and mission-critical environment.
  • Familiarity with the ITIL based service management framework and change control, release procedures and tools.
  • Ability to demonstrate capacity planning, performance tuning, and proactive monitoring of solutions.
  • Flexibility in working hours to meet objectives and assist colleagues.
  • Availability for out-of-hours support on a rota basis.
Desirable Skills
  • Good IT Infrastructure skill set with Windows Server 2008R2, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019 &/or 2022.
  • SharePoint (2007, 2013, SP Online) experience.
  • Experience supporting applications/platforms within AWS and Azure.
  • Service Now experience.
  • Ansible / PowerShell scripting skills.
  • Knowledge/experience with Web/Email security platforms.
  • Experience working with VMware Virtualisation.
