Key Responsibilities
  • Deputising and Training
    • Deputise for the Pharmacy Stores Supervisor as needed
    • Support with the training of rotational staff
    • Assist with dealing with drug alerts
  • Pharmacy Store Operations
    • Identify, select, and issue drugs
    • Receive and update stock levels using the pharmacy computer system
    • Deal with telephone enquiries, ward/department, and community issues
    • Load and operate the automated pharmacy storage and dispensing system
    • Participate in the ward top-up system
    • Dispose of pharmaceutical items appropriately
    • Deal with flammable waste
    • Ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical items
    • Answer the pharmacy stores hatch
  • Stock Control and Maintenance
    • Maintain stock control and rotation
    • Follow standard operating procedures accurately
    • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment
    • Maintain accurate manual and computer records
    • Perform 'house-keeping' duties
    • Use the pallet pump truck to put away bulk fluid orders
    • Liaise with the Pharmacy Procurement office
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
