Position Overview
The Tax Manager role at Rosekirk LLP presents an opportunity for advancement to a Senior Tax Manager for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of UK private client and/or expatriate tax regulations, complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills. A proven ability to analyze and resolve intricate tax matters is essential.
While prior experience with the Australian tax framework is not mandatory, the selected candidate will be expected to engage in comprehensive training to familiarize themselves with the Australian tax system. In addition, on-the-job training will be provided to support the candidate's professional growth.
The primary responsibilities will include offering tax guidance on UK income tax, employment taxes, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and trusts, as well as Australian income tax and capital gains tax. Furthermore, the candidate will be tasked with nurturing and managing client relationships, reviewing UK personal tax returns, and contributing to the training and development of junior staff regarding the preparation of UK tax returns.
All team members are encouraged to actively participate in the firm’s initiatives related to business, staff, and cultural development.
Additionally, staff members are expected to contribute to the firm’s growth by engaging in business development activities.
Required Skills and Experience
Academic Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate strong UK tax expertise and possess relevant UK tax qualifications such as CTA/ATT/ACA/ACCA. A degree is preferred.
Professional Experience and Skills
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a UK Chartered Firm or a comparable environment focusing on private clients, expatriates, or mixed tax scenarios is required. Candidates should have sound technical knowledge of UK tax and substantial experience with UK personal tax returns. While prior Australian tax experience is not necessary, candidates with such experience will be given preference. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, along with the ability to learn additional software, particularly Digita Personal Tax Software (UK – Thomson Reuters) and XPM.
