NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde stands as one of the largest healthcare providers in the UK, employing approximately 40,000 individuals across various clinical and non-clinical roles. Our services encompass acute hospital care, primary healthcare, community services, and mental health support for a population exceeding 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when considering our regional and national services.
In a progressive move, NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024, without any alteration in salary. This change will also apply proportionately to part-time employees. It is important to note that while this new working schedule is being implemented, some service areas may require temporary adjustments, necessitating up to an additional 30 minutes of work per week until new rosters are established.
This position is offered as a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess a valid PIN with the NMC.UK. Applications from newly qualified nurses or midwives will not be accepted.
The role involves a shift pattern that includes weekdays, weekends, nights, and on-call duties. Please be aware that salaries for part-time roles are calculated on a pro-rata basis.
Due to the expansion of our Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) oncological services, we are seeking experienced Band 5 Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) for a one-year fixed-term contract. Opportunities are available for both scrub and anaesthetic roles, with options for full-time and part-time employment. You will engage with a diverse surgical caseload, including Neurosurgical, Oral Maxillofacial, and Neuro-interventional radiology procedures, enhancing your skills and experience while working within a close-knit, highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
As a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient care needs, developing care programs, and implementing and evaluating these plans to ensure the delivery of high-quality care during the perioperative phase.
