Your Responsibilities
Assist your manager in overseeing supplier performance, identifying potential new suppliers, and fostering long-term supplier relationships. Utilize analytical tools to assess and comprehend performance challenges and opportunities. Conduct regular visits to stores/websites and analyze customer insights and food trends to inform future product and range requirements. Contribute to the development and sourcing of customer and market insight-driven ranges and product innovations. Engage in negotiations with suppliers to establish and implement market-leading buy/move/sell strategies aligned with customer plans and category objectives. Support the execution of trade, promotions, and events plans, aiming to exceed KPIs, enhance footfall, and forecast accurately. Assist in the Supply Chain Plan to ensure timely product availability in stores. Collaborate with suppliers and the category quality team to maintain and achieve product quality standards. Comply with all Tesco policies, storage, and handover protocols while successfully completing all required training. Adhere to our Business Code of Conduct, consistently acting with integrity and due diligence.Required Qualifications
Experience:
A strong interest in fast-paced retail or experience in an FMCG environment. Previous buying experience is preferred. Knowledge of range and trade planning. Experience in report preparation and analysis. Operational Skills:
Influencing and negotiation skills. Stakeholder management capabilities. Supplier management experience. Expertise in buying and range management. Trade planning proficiency. Data analysis skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
