About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Stoke-on-Trent City Council. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons to students with SEN.
  • Assist students with their learning, including providing individualized support and accommodations as needed.
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.

Requirements
  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Experience working with students with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
