About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and professional Dental Practitioner to join our team at HCRG Workforce Solutions. As a Dental Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing a full range of dental treatment to maintain oral health and undertake related general administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work independently to provide dental treatment and maintain oral health.
  2. Assist the Senior Dental Officer (SDO) or operate independently to achieve dental fitness targets.
  3. Ensure that not less than 6.5 hours per day in 2 sessions are set aside for direct patient contact.
  4. Record all treatment correctly on the electronic health record and any relevant FMed documents.
Standards and Compliance
  1. Comply with all relevant Contracting Authority policy, including DPHC (Dental) policies, regulations, and orders.
  2. Ensure that surgery management, document administration, and maintenance of equipment are undertaken to the standards laid out in JSP 950 Leaflet and DPHC Dental SOPs.
  3. Provide treatment in accordance with The College of General Dentistry (CG Dent) guidelines.
  4. Ensure compliance with radiation safety orders and adhere to current control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) without restrictions.
  2. Certified completion of Foundation Training in Dentistry in the UK or have evidence of at least 24 months full-time postgraduate clinical experience derived in a primary dental care setting.
  3. Hold valid suitable and appropriate indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation.
  4. Provide evidence of clinical currency in accordance with JSP 950 Leaflet 4-1-4 Returning to Clinical Practice.
  5. Have completed GDC highly recommended Continuing Professional Development (CPD) including medical emergencies, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, disinfection and decontamination, radiography, and radiation protection.
  6. Be trained and current in emergency and resuscitation procedures and have practised and tested these procedures at least annually in accordance with Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and JSP 950 Leaflet 4-6-1 DMS CPR Standards and Training.
  7. Have undertaken the additional health clearance checks for clinicians required to perform Exposure Prone Procedures.
Desirable Requirements
  1. Previous Ministry of Defence (MoD) Experience.
  2. An NHS Performer number.
  3. A dentally related level 7 postgraduate qualification.
