We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 1 Teacher to join our vibrant and fun primary school in Oxford. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our students.
About the RoleAs a Year 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth. Your primary focus will be on teaching the Key Stage 1 curriculum, with a strong emphasis on maths, literacy, and social skills.
You will work closely with our experienced teaching team to develop engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback. Your ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues will be essential in creating a positive and productive learning environment.
Responsibilities- Teach the Key Stage 1 curriculum to groups of students, with a focus on maths, literacy, and social skills.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and expertise.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and achievements.
Our primary school is a 3-form entry school located in a lovely residential area of Oxford. We pride ourselves on creating a friendly and supportive environment that welcomes early career teachers (ECTs) with open arms. Our school aspires to develop well-rounded, confident pupils through a supportive pastoral environment, and we are committed to providing a high-quality education that prepares students for success in all aspects of life.
Requirements- Relevant qualifications (Experienced teachers as well as ECTs are welcome to apply).
- Ability to commute to Oxford via public transport.
- Confidence to hit the ground running, proactively lead a class, and manage behaviour in line with school behaviour policies.
