Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Operations & Commercial Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our close-knit and entrepreneurial environment, you will be responsible for managing our entire supply chain, driving customer engagement, and improving operational efficiency and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supply Chain Management: Order processing and follow-ups, supply and demand forecasting, stock management and planning.
  • Customer Engagement: Clear and effective communication with clients, suppliers, and internal colleagues to expedite planning, ordering, delivery, and accounting requirements.
  • Logistics and Operations: Liaising with warehouse for despatching orders, communicating updates and/or issues with customers, and ensuring payments are received from customers on time.
  • General Administration: Recording of sales information, documents, and customer contact information, as well as general administration duties such as marketing, events organisation, scheduling, and maintaining office welfare.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous purchasing, logistics, and customer service experience is essential (2+ years).
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of how distribution companies work, with insight into the chemicals industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with software such as CRMs, ERPs, XERO, and highly proficient in working with technology and Microsoft software.
  • Personal Qualities: Enthusiastic, open-minded, and willing to learn, with excellent attention to detail, strong time management skills, and high interpersonal competence and negotiation abilities.
Advantageous Qualities
  • Experience in Logistics: Experience in logistics, import/export procedures, incoterms, interacting with global freight forwarders and couriers.
  • Industry Experience: Interest or previous experience in the chemicals industry is desirable but not essential.
