Clinical Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced healthcare professional to lead our efforts in preventing and controlling the spread of blood-borne viruses in the BSGW region. As the Blood Borne Virus Regional Lead, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies to prevent and control the spread of HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.
This is a unique opportunity to take on a leadership role with substantial autonomy and influence. You will be responsible for collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, public health experts, and other stakeholders to drive innovative programs and interventions. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that our initiatives are evidence-based, impactful, and aligned with national best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to prevent and control the spread of blood-borne viruses in the BSGW region.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to drive innovative programs and interventions.
- Provide expert training to multidisciplinary teams in blood-borne virus awareness and management.
- Lead on the implementation of strategies to optimise health promotion/ improvement and disease prevention.
- Ensure that patients in our care have equitable access to treatment for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV regardless of their movement through the justice system.

Requirements- Registered Nurse (RMN or RGN)
- NMC Registration
- 2 years post qualification experience - preferably in prison setting
- Demonstrated involvement in health promotion activities
- Working knowledge of treatment pathways and best practice in caring for those living with blood-borne viruses
Please note that all applicants must be willing to undertake National Security Vetting in order to work in a Prison Setting. This will be completed as part of the pre-employment checks through Oxleas and the prison vetting team.
