Cost Management Specialist

Our team helps organizations deliver and integrate new assets efficiently, while also setting asset strategies that support their corporate objectives. We work closely with clients to ensure that their objectives are met through effective cost management services.
Main Responsibilities- Manage commissions of varying sizes, typically ranging from £5m to £10m, and ensure timely and accurate cost checking and valuation.
- Assist in feasibility studies, write procurement reports, estimate and cost plan, and produce and present the final cost plan.
- Conduct tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, and compiling contractual documents.
- Take personal responsibility for making cost checks, carrying out valuations, and dealing with post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to clients.
- Negotiate and agree final accounts.
- Interface with clients, project managers, and other consultants at all project stages.
- Collaborate with Turner & Townsend's project management team during project delivery.
- Lead a cost management team, ensuring they deliver on all accountabilities.
- Manage commissions to the right quality standards and complete them efficiently and on time.
- Ensure service delivery on commissions meets the conditions of appointment.
- Develop good relationships with clients and members of the cross-functional team.
- Work effectively as a member of the cost management team, taking responsibility for Assistant Cost Managers.
- Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients.
- Monitor margin levels on all commissions.
- Cascade key information and data effectively and retain it appropriately.
- Ability to work with autonomy and take initiative.
- Self-motivated individual with a confident and professional manner.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize own workload.
- Ability to collaborate and build relationships across the business.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle.
- Professionally qualified (RICS or similar).
- Degree or HNC level qualification.
