About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electro Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our site plant equipment, including automated power presses, automated robot assembly lines, conveyor systems, resistance welding lines, and clinching equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Health and Safety: Promote a culture of working safely by complying with company Health & Safety and environmental standards.
  2. Equipment Maintenance: Attend breakdowns as a priority, getting equipment up and running in the shortest time possible to the correct safety and quality standards, utilising your electrical and mechanical skills.
  3. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement activities by submitting suggestions to improve process flow and increase production cell efficiency.
  4. 5S Activities: Support 5s activities throughout the Production Departments.
  5. Teamwork: Work as part of a small team with minimal supervision, reporting directly to the maintenance manager.
  6. Corrective Work: Carry out permanent corrective work after production to ensure faults don't reoccur.
  7. Equipment Improvement: Identify and carry out improvements to equipment to improve quality and/or efficiency.
  8. Planned Maintenance: Carry out planned preventative maintenance on equipment and site facilities.
  9. Project Work: Get involved in any projects/improvements as necessary.
  10. PLC Interrogation: PLC interrogation/fault finding (Omron, Mitsubishi).
  11. Breakdown Response: React positively to breakdowns and requests for help.
  12. Training and Development: Willing to learn on own initiative; training courses can be provided, but will be expected to put theory into practice.
  13. Record Keeping: Record all activities on CMMS.
  14. Deadlines and Targets: Experience of working to deadlines and targets.
  15. Logical Fault Finding: Logical fault finding approach through basic electrical and electronic principles.
  16. Variable Speed Control: Experience of variable speed motor control systems (Inverter, Servo drives).
  17. Robotics and Software: Experience and understanding of basic use of robotics and software integration.
  18. Flexible Working: Flexible working approach, including weekend working when required.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Previous Experience: Previous busy factory/manufacturing experience is desirable.
  2. Multi-Skilling: Willingness to multi-skill and learn products and processes.
  3. Problem-Solving: Ability to problem-solve.
  4. Literacy and Numeracy: Excellent literacy and numeracy.
  5. Electrical Installations: Electrical installations to 18th edition regulations or equivalent is desirable.
  6. Machine Shop and Tool Room: Competent use of machine shop and tool room equipment to perform repairs.
  7. Time Management: Able to manage own time and priorities where necessary.
  8. Time and Attendance: Must have an excellent time and attendance record.
  9. Communication Skills: Patience when problems occur to explain root causes to operators clearly.
  10. Approachability: Approachable – operators, team leaders, and managers must feel the person is approachable.
  11. Coaching: Experience of coaching apprentices would be advantageous.
  12. Automotive Manufacturing: Previous experience in Automotive Manufacturing would be advantageous.

Package:

  1. Holiday Entitlement: 25 days holiday (mostly fixed with plant shut downs) + 8 Bank holidays.
  2. Working Hours: 37.5 hour week.
  3. Contract Type: Permanent contract.
  4. Opportunities for Advancement: Potential for advancement in the company.
  5. Overtime: Overtime (up to 1.5 hours compulsory overtime per day, depending on business need).
  6. Salary: Competitive salary.
  7. Shift Premium: 20% premium on PM shift, 30% night.
  8. Workwear: Workwear is provided.
  9. Working Hours: Working a 2-shift pattern rota or possible 3-shift depending on company requirements.
