Science Teacher Opportunity at a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit

We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join our team at a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit in Wigan. This exciting opportunity is available to start ASAP, offering a long-term to permanent placement for the ideal candidate.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching all aspects of Science, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, as well as General Science, across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 classes. Class sizes are small, with a maximum of 8 pupils in each classroom, and at least 2 support staff on hand in each classroom.

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Demonstrable experience and passion for teaching Science
  • Ability to engage and inspire students in a PRU setting
  • Resilience, patience, and a positive approach to behaviour management
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs
  • Fully enhanced DBS check
