We are seeking a highly experienced Medicinal Chemistry Director to lead our research and development efforts in a leading Pharmaceutical Drug Discovery company based in the UK. As the Medicinal Chemistry Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the wider chemistry departments and driving technology development through innovative approaches and scientific expertise on various portfolio projects.
The successful candidate will have a direct impact on our company's success by applying their expertise in structure-based drug design, updating synthesis methodologies, and managing large teams to provide leadership on target validation and lead optimization stages.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Lead Drug Discovery Project Teams**: You will apply your expert Medicinal Chemistry and DMPK knowledge to lead drug discovery project teams and deliver high-quality compounds to clinical trials.
2. **Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams**: You will collaborate with different teams, including structural biology, translational bioscience, and computational, to manage scientific collaborations, identify clinical candidates, and manage CRO outsourcing activities.
**Requirements:**
1. **Relevant Degree**: You must have a relevant degree in a Chemistry discipline.
2. **Industry Experience**: You must have proven industry experience working in the Drug Discovery space with a proven Medicinal Chemistry track record.
3. **Leadership Experience**: You must have experience leading drug discovery project teams and have a working knowledge of neuroscience or transmembrane targets.
