Supporting the Preservation of India Office Records

We are seeking a skilled Digital Preservation Specialist to join our team at the Digital Preservation Coalition. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of legacy digitized content created by our library and commercial partners.

As a Digital Preservation Specialist, you will work closely with our India Office Records team and Heritage Made Digital colleagues to assess digitized content, create necessary metadata, and ensure that copyright and data sensitivity assessments are carried out. You will also have the opportunity to catalogue India Office Records material, for which full training will be provided.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with digital images and large-scale digital projects, as well as excellent IT skills, particularly using Excel. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines in a self-directed manner are essential. Experience working with archive and manuscript materials is desirable, although full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess digitized content and create necessary metadata
