Care Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Connect2Kent. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to children, engaging them in stimulating and meaningful learning activities, and encouraging them to express their wishes and feelings.
Main Responsibilities:
- Attend daily handover meetings with the Centre Managers to understand tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines.
- Support the Centre Managers in welcoming and orientating new arrivals to the Home.
- Accompany children to and from appointments, transporting them in a company vehicle.
- Support Centre Managers in booking follow-up appointments and typing clear and accurate reports.
- Attend and contribute to Child in Care reviews held at the Reception.
- Complete Incident Reports and submit them to the Centre Managers when concerns arise.
- Engage children in stimulating and meaningful learning activities.
- Encourage children to express their wishes and feelings and make their own choices.
- Deputise for Centre Managers on a rota basis and work with staff to ensure the smooth running of the Reception Centre.
- Promote equality and anti-discriminatory behaviour with children and staff.
- Behave in a professional manner at all times.
Requirements:
- Experience of working and caring for children or young people.
- Experience of working in a residential setting.
- Experience of working with unaccompanied asylum-seeking children or children in a care setting.
Benefits:
£13.74 per hour.
