- Work collaboratively with the class teacher to adapt lesson plans and materials to suit the child's unique learning style and needs.
- Foster a positive, trusting relationship with the child to help them feel secure and supported.
- Monitor and track progress, adjusting support methods as needed to ensure continuous development.
- Help the child manage transitions and cope with changes in routine, offering guidance to minimise stress and discomfort.
- Experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build a strong rapport with the child.
- Adaptability in working with non-traditional learning environments and approaches.
- Strong communication skills, both with the child and in coordinating with the teaching team.
- A proactive and creative mindset for engaging the child in learning while helping them develop coping strategies for routine and structure.
