Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Porter to provide essential services to our NHS clients. This role involves working across multiple sites to ensure efficient mail collection and delivery, as well as the transportation of necessary supplies. A valid driving license is mandatory for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect pharmacy bags, boxes, and specimens from designated service points.
  • Assist in the removal of sharps bins and waste from healthcare services to appropriate locations.
  • Manage the collection and delivery of all internal and external mail across healthcare sites, ensuring the security of items during transport.
  • Perform routine portering duties, including the distribution of materials and equipment.
  • Provide coverage for colleagues during absences to maintain essential services.
  • Support a reliable and responsive portering and transport service for clients, staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Report health and safety concerns to the line manager and maintenance issues to the relevant teams.
  • Collaborate with site-based services to uphold service standards and professional conduct.
  • Participate in core training and additional training as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Effective time management abilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems within the scope of responsibility.
  • Experience working with the public is preferred.
