Senior Manager - Private Equity and Credit Risk Oversight

Team/Role Overview
The Credit Risk Oversight Manager will spearhead the second line of defense challenge function, encompassing a variety of products such as subscription call facilities, Fund Financing, FX (foreign exchange), Derivatives, Prime Brokerage, and structured lending. The ideal candidate will also possess experience in managing alternative investment managers, including Hedge Funds. This team focuses on direct lending to Funds and Fund managers, emphasizing the expansion of the Private Markets sector (including Private Equity, Credit, Real Estate, and Infrastructure).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Private Equity team, overseeing transaction risks across the Private and Investment Banking sectors in the UK. Provide comprehensive oversight and challenge for the business across a full spectrum of products.
  • Excellence in analysis, underwriting, and monitoring is essential, ensuring global consistency across regions.
  • Experience in underwriting and managing a portfolio of intricate products.
  • Strong understanding of Derivatives and structured lending.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients in Banking and Risk.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of capital markets products and complex financing structures.
  • Extensive experience in risk and counterparty credit work within banking or financial institutions, particularly with alternative investment counterparties.
  • Exhibit strong ethics and integrity.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Dynamic, adaptable, and possessing strong communication skills.
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and within tight timelines.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with active listening abilities.
  • Proficient presentation skills, capable of effectively engaging diverse audiences.
