New Avenues is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to enhance our Central Finance team.
This role is integral to our financial controllership division, which is tasked with the timely preparation and approval of financial/statutory accounts and reports for the organization. Collaborating with an offshore team, the successful candidate will conduct comprehensive balance sheet assessments, prepare financial statements, and ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations. Additionally, you will play a key role in optimizing financial processes and may be involved in various financial analyses.
We are looking for a qualified accountant with significant experience in financial accounting, preferably within a multi-entity environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a dynamic workplace with a supportive culture and management team. You will be joining a motivated and friendly group, and it is essential to be able to adapt quickly.
This position is a fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and enhance financial processes.
- Conduct in-depth reviews of balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Support audit preparations and processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the finance team to deliver accurate and timely financial information.
- Assist in the creation of financial reports and statements.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with a robust technical accounting background in FRS102 for Large UK Companies.
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting and audit support, ideally within the Retail/Wholesale sector or similar.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient understanding of UK accounting standards and regulations.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Hands-on approach, with strong analytical and detail-oriented capabilities.
- A positive, proactive attitude, with a passion for problem-solving and completing tasks.
- Confident and clear communicator.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
