Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Support Specialist to join our team as a New Product Introduction (NPI) Technical Support Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to our clients and internal teams throughout the NPI process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a formal NPI process and recording system
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams during the NPI process
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and timely transfer of completed projects to manufacturing
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and formulate technical aspects of BOMs and production assembly instructions
  • Input data to the company ERP system in support of the technical department
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and other internal departments as required
  • Assist with authoring product specifications and instructions, as well as after-sales support services and technical assistance
  • Manage the preparation of technical reports in support of projects and to other departments as required
  • Represent the Technical team at customer meetings and operate as an integral part of the team
  • Guide and ensure compliance with relevant Electrical legislation and advise on the integration of legislation within the company BMS
  • Develop and undertake product tests and records as required
  • Identify any HSE concerns and report to the SQM or H&S officer as necessary

Requirements

To be considered for this role, the successful candidate will be self-motivated and comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team with exceptional communication skills at all levels. Eager to learn and with the ability to understand and work with electronics associated with Battery Management Systems, the ideal candidate will have led or been part of an NPI team for products that have successfully been integrated into production or entered into the market place, with a solid understanding of current legislation and its effects on NPI.

Education and Experience

The successful candidate will be degree-qualified or above in a relevant electronic engineering discipline, with an understanding of Agile or Prince2 systems proving distinctly advantageous.
