Your Future Team:

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a commitment to quality? We are currently expanding our operations in the Defence sector and are seeking talented individuals to join our innovative team. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in Assystem-led initiatives with the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements.


Your Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive design concepts, scheme definitions, and detailed design solutions utilizing CAD software, particularly Inventor.

• Engage in the design of piping systems, mechanical flow diagrams, and produce general arrangement, assembly, component, and fabrication drawings.

• Generate scoping calculations and component specifications that comply with BS/ISO standards and legal regulations (e.g., LOLER, EMUA).

• Ensure all designs conform to the AEIL Quality Management System, delivering projects within established timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.


Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

• HND in a relevant engineering/design discipline is preferred, or HNC with applicable experience.

• Significant experience in mechanical design adhering to BS/ISO standards.

• Proficient in both 2D and 3D CAD software.

• Familiarity with design for manufacture, pipework, pressure vessels, and structural steelwork.

• Experience with Autodesk Revit and GD&T is desirable.

• Knowledge of BS8888 and ASME Y14.5 drawing standards is a plus.

  • Permanent staff position; umbrella contractors will be considered.
  • Must be a sole UK national.
  • BPSS clearance required to start; SC clearance will be necessary.
