Thomas Thor is seeking a highly skilled Senior I&C Design Technical Lead to join our team in the development of next-generation nuclear power technology. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide technical leadership for the engineering assessment, design, and safety justification of the SMR-300 small modular reactor.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on I&C Systems Engineering for SMR-300 plant protection, control, and monitoring systems.
- Demonstrate SMR-300 I&C architecture suitability for safety functional claims.
- Demonstrate production excellence of the I&C Platform(s) utilised in SMR-300.
- Oversight, as Intelligent Customer, of key evidence supporting safety claims.
- Support the development of the I&C chapter of the Safety Case for submission in the SMR-300 GDA.
- Coach and mentor to develop the team and the individuals in technical and personal skills enabling them to deliver.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external organizations, including the nuclear regulators.
- Defend I&C design positions.
- Degree qualified in an engineering or science-related discipline.
- Must possess excellent credentials in principles of power plant digital control design.
- Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Able to engage credibly within and external to the business.
- Strong presentation and communication skills – able to present at multiple organisational levels and to external regulatory stakeholders.
- A credible decision maker, able to create confidence through crafting of strong justifications and arguments.
- Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.
- Experience with integrated control systems.
- Experience with Human Machine Interface assessments.
- Cyber Risk Assessments.
