Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our team at the Mars Wrigley factory in Plymouth. As a Mechanical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the condition of operating equipment, troubleshooting and repairing routine mechanical problems, and conducting preventative maintenance on various manufacturing and packaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on process and packaging equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment with minimal guidance.
- Support operations in equipment setup and training of operators in Autonomous Maintenance activities.
- Document work orders using SAP-PPM Plant Maintenance logging and completing maintenance activities on a daily basis.
- Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams and adhere to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) Procedures and all other Plant Safety/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues within an FMCG environment.
- Suitably qualified in an engineering discipline supported by relevant experience.
- Fundamental understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level.
