We are seeking a skilled Power Systems Design Engineer to join our team at Northern Powergrid. As a key member of our power systems design team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our electricity distribution network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and propose network solutions to mitigate issues on the electricity distribution network
  • Work with our investment team and operational colleagues to identify poorly performing components of the electricity distribution network
  • Undertake power system studies to identify existing and potential constraints on the network
  • Document network issues and propose solutions
Requirements:
  • Detailed understanding of high voltage and/or low voltage electricity distribution networks
  • Good working knowledge of key design policies, codes of practice, and national guidance documents
  • Ability to use analytical software and engineering packages to diagnose and solve problems, produce electrical designs, and update databases
  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment in which Northern Powergrid operates
  • Deliver quality outputs to required deadlines
