We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Schoen Clinic Newbridge, a specialist eating disorder hospital for children and young people. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in the psychiatric and medical management of patients, including those detained under the Mental Health Act.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct medical assessments of patients and develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Provide psychiatric assessments, including eating disorder and non-eating disorder psychopathology, and formulate complex cases with medical and psychiatric needs
- Lead the monitoring and treatment of physical complications of eating disorders in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
- Attend clinical MDT meetings and participate in discussions around high-risk patients
- Implement guidelines and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Treat and monitor psychiatric aspects of eating disorders, including core psychopathology and psychiatric co-morbidities
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness, adhering to relevant NICE guidelines
- Use the Mental Health Act as appropriate in the management of eating disorders and general psychiatry
