Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Maxillofacial Prosthetist/Reconstructive Scientist to join our busy team for a period of 12 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a clinical, scientific, and advisory service to patients undergoing reconstructive procedures or rehabilitation using implants, splints, and prostheses.
Main Duties
- Deliver a clinical, technical service to patients undergoing reconstructive procedures or rehabilitation using implants, splints, and prostheses.
- Provide specialist advice and consultancy on maxillofacial prosthetic issues.
- Participate in stock control and ordering of department consumables.
- Contribute to departmental and initiate own research and development programmes.
- Participate in teaching for the units MPT training programme.
- Support and deputise for the Consultant Maxillofacial Prosthetist as required.

Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Delivering a clinical, technical service to patients undergoing reconstructive procedures or rehabilitation using implants, splints, and prostheses.
- Liaising with team members and scheduling patients' clinical appointments and surgical procedures.
- Organising own clinical sessions and quality controlling work produced within the patient environment.
- Providing clinical and technical support and liaising with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Coordinating and arranging treatment plans, timetabling of clinical/technical procedures, discharge from care, and referring on/back of individual cases.
- Participating in patient case conferences/meetings and carrying out invasive procedures in the clinic or operating theatre within specified restraints.
