About Us

Dundee City Council's Learning Disability Service is a dedicated team of Social Workers and Health Professionals committed to providing comprehensive support to adults with learning disabilities.

We offer a wide range of services, including housing assistance, in-home care, social activities, respite care, and enriching day programs. Our goal is to empower individuals with learning disabilities to live fulfilling lives within their communities.

Your Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and support to our service users. You will work collaboratively with the team to ensure that individuals receive personalized attention and assistance tailored to their unique needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate and person-centered care, assisting with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
  • Create a positive and supportive environment that promotes independence, social interaction, and well-being.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with service users, families, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • SVQ2 in Care or willingness to obtain it.
  • 3 National 4s or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and night duty.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
