About the Role:

The Portfolio Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit and Accounts Senior to join our team. As a key member of our audit and financial services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of technical audit and accountancy services.

  • Deliver high-quality audit and accountancy services to our clients, meeting the required standards for managers and supervisors.
  • Delegate tasks and provide ongoing feedback to junior team members.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for new team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Manage and maintain client relationships with strict confidentiality, building trust and rapport with our clients.
  • Apply up-to-date technical knowledge consistently, staying current with industry developments and best practices.
  • Lead audits from planning through to completion, including client interactions and communication.
  • Host pre-audit and post-audit client meetings, ensuring clear communication and expectations.
  • Assist in the management of a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Prepare and submit statutory accounts (FRS 102, Groups, Limited Companies, LLP Accounts) and corporation tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Review and provide on-the-job training to junior accountants, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.

Essential Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of audit and accountancy principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Key requirements include:

  • High professional standards and practice conduct, with a strong commitment to quality and excellence.
  • Awareness of industry guidelines and internal systems updates, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • Ability to complete planning and finalisation sections of audit files, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
