About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic nurse to join our Colorectal Nurse Team at Ipswich Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in assessing GP referrals for patients with Lower GI (colorectal cancers) and ensuring that cancer standards are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess GP referrals for patients with Lower GI (colorectal cancers) and ensure that cancer standards are adhered to.
  • Liaise with GP practices, patients, Cancer Hub staff, Endoscopy booking staff, outpatient booking staff, consultant secretaries, and consultants as required.
  • Ensure Oral bowel cleansing solution (OBCS) is supplied when required.
  • Support the development of other 'one stop' assessment and treatment clinics and direct access endoscopy.
  • Support the colorectal cancer CNS service.

Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced nurse with:

Current NMC registration.Evidence of continuous and personal development.Experience in gastroenterology/colorectal nursing.Proven post-registration experience.Involvement in service development and implementation of change.Demonstrate knowledge of GI cancer symptoms.Demonstrate knowledge of common GI symptom management.
