Senior Geotechnical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Northamptonshire. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing a variety of projects from inception to completion, managing financial budgets, and undertaking fieldwork and supervision of site contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.
  • Manage financial budgets for projects, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost control.
  • Undertake fieldwork and supervision of site contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare desk study reports, interpretative geotechnical and geoenvironmental reports, and waste classification assessments to current UK standards.
  • Provide recommendations on characterising ground conditions, foundation design, ground improvements, earthworks, basements, retaining wall, mining, and slope stability assessments.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in working for a consultancy based in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering.
  • BSc in Geology or related field.
  • MSc in Geotechnical/Geological Engineering.
  • Computer and Geotechnical Software Literate.
  • Full UK Clean Driving License and willingness to travel as part of the role.
  • CSCS Card advantageous but not essential.
