Job Summary

Action Homeless is committed to providing high-quality services to individuals experiencing homelessness. We are seeking a skilled Homeless Services Officer to join our team and contribute to our mission of ending street homelessness and empowering people to achieve higher living standards and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular health and safety checks of individual rooms/properties to ensure a safe and secure living environment for our clients.
  • Sign up new clients to their accommodation, providing them with information about their rights and obligations under the tenancy/licence agreements and fully inducting them into the new accommodation.
  • Act as the first point of contact for clients in matters related to their accommodation, including housing benefit advice, arrears advice, and anti-social behaviour issues.
  • Deliver housing-related support to help clients sustain their accommodation and progress towards more permanent housing solutions.
  • Support clients in achieving their action plans and provide encouragement to engage with available support services.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and data using our ICT systems.

Requirements

  • Experience of supporting clients within a housing setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic IT skills and familiarity with ICT systems.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends as required to meet the needs of our clients.
