About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Ward Manager to join our team at Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will play a key role in providing clinical and professional leadership to a ward-based team of registered nurses and healthcare assistants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and professional leadership to a ward-based team
  • Deputise for the Ward Manager in their absence
  • Support the Team Leader with efficient management and day-to-day running of the ward
  • Monitor the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care for patients
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care

Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Specialist Practitioner Qualification - District Nursing (or equivalent postgraduate modules) or equivalent level nursing qualification/experience
  • Current NMC registration
  • Evidence of further recent study/professional development

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Independent non-medical prescriber or willing to undertakeTeaching/Mentorship QualificationClinical examination module (or willing to undertake)Leadership Qualification - ILM level 6 or equivalent (or willing to work towards) or relevant experience
