About the Role

As a Shift Chemist, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and reliable analytical results within our laboratory setting. You'll be responsible for conducting a range of tests according to established procedures and international standards, contributing to the smooth operation of our testing services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of chemical analyses using established methods and equipment, ensuring adherence to quality control protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results and documentation, adhering to strict laboratory standards and procedures.
  • Calibrate and maintain analytical instruments, ensuring their accuracy and reliability for optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of analyses.
  • Contribute to a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all relevant safety regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory setting, ideally within the oil, gas, or chemical industries.
  • Strong understanding of analytical techniques and methods, including IP, ASTM standards.
  • Proficiency in using LIMS systems (e.g., Cclas) for data management and reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all work performed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills.

Education

  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • GCSEs (A-C) in Maths and English.
