The Student Property team is one of the largest London-based consultancies in this sector. Unique among competitors, our agency, consultancy, and valuation functions are performed by surveyors collaborating within a single department at our Head Office. The team executes leading transactions and values more PBSA annually than any other consultancy, achieving £7 billion in valuations.

Role Overview

The position involves working within the valuation team to assist with current clients and assignments. While primarily UK-based, the role is expected to expand to include mainland European PBSA valuation projects. Responsibilities will include drafting loan security valuation reports for lenders and preparing valuations for specialized and institutional fund clients. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a team of seven valuers, with significant opportunities for career growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Revenue Generation

  • Enhance the range and volume of instructions through proactive business development to foster departmental growth.
  • Conduct valuations assigned personally or by senior colleagues with precision and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all office technology utilized for valuations.
  • Participate in events to promote the department and the firm among clients and professional organizations.

Client Relations

  • Respond promptly to client inquiries.
  • Uphold the professional image of Knight Frank consistently.
  • Be adept in preparing valuation reports.

Professional Standards

  • Develop a solid understanding of the UK and Student Property markets.
  • Stay informed on property and national news to gain a comprehensive view of the market.
  • Meet all deadlines for work completion.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of valuations, including digital files.
  • Fully comprehend office records and procedures, utilizing all available information effectively.
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding all departmental work and sensitive information.
  • Commit to Continuing Professional Development as mandated by RICS.

Team Collaboration

  • Become a vital member of the student property team.
  • Engage with colleagues from other departments to gather information supporting valuations and identify cross-selling opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree educated
  • MRICS qualified
  • Previous valuation experience preferred, particularly in the student sector, though not essential
  • Broad experience in the UK property market
  • Registered under the RICS Valuer Registration Scheme
