About the Role:As a Senior Residential Childcare Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children and young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and cultural needs are met. You will work closely with the Registered Manager and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the home and provide guidance and support to Residential Childcare Workers.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing daily care and support to children and young people, including meal preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Supporting children and young people in their daily activities, such as outdoor activities, education, and personal development.
- Working with the Registered Manager to develop and implement individual care plans, ensuring the needs of each child are met.
- Providing guidance and support to Residential Childcare Workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
- Overseeing the reporting and recording of incidents, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Working closely with other professionals, such as social workers, IROs, and education providers, to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and/or neglect.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and colleagues.
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and sleep-in shifts.
- Driving license and access to a vehicle (desirable).
