Assistant Operations Manager Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of operational service requirements and improvements to achieve performance and financial targets.
  • Support performance with communication, planning, and reviews.
  • Provide direct operations leadership to support night operations at the SBQ.
  • Support the Operations Manager in leading and managing individual and team performance and development.
  • In partnership with the HSSEQ department, ensure the continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance and compliance to all laws, regulations, and industry standards/codes.
  • Use Power BI to report KPIs and build monthly reports.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and report significant breaches of policy and/or regulation to the Operations Manager or appropriate person.
  • Financial planning and budgetary control, inventory control, and disposal cost effectiveness.
  • Business case cost planning preparation and assist in development and execution of business plans with a primary focus on profit growth.
  • Ad-hoc responsibilities as requested by the Operations Manager for the successful operation of the facility, including flexibility to cover night shifts when required.
Requirements:
  • UK Driving Licence.
  • Accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, flexible, and able to adapt to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
  • Ability to work stand-alone, demonstrating initiative and ownership, while a positive contributor to the wider team.
  • Computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite and a practical understanding of data entry and reporting applications.
