Do you possess a strong background in IT Transformation or extensive IT Change projects, particularly in areas such as cloud migration, digital evolution, and modernization of legacy systems, utilizing project management tools like Jira and MS Project?


At ARM, we are looking for a dedicated Senior IT Transformation Strategist for a 12-month fixed-term contract with a global IT services and consultancy organization.


As a Senior IT Transformation Strategist, you will be instrumental in overseeing large-scale IT transformation projects, concentrating on the planning, coordination, and management of intricate initiatives aimed at fundamentally altering the organization’s IT framework.

This position demands a profound comprehension of both the technical and strategic facets of IT transformation, alongside robust leadership and project management capabilities.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Alignment:

  • Spearhead the formulation of comprehensive plans for IT transformation initiatives, ensuring they align with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to establish transformation objectives, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Convert high-level transformation strategies into actionable project plans and roadmaps.

Programme & Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Take ownership of the detailed overall transformation plans, including key milestone management across various workstreams.
  • Supervise the meticulous planning and coordination of multiple projects within the IT transformation programme, ensuring alignment with overarching transformation objectives.
  • Partner with project managers and teams to guarantee seamless execution and integration of transformation activities throughout the organization.
  • Ensure effective management of project interdependencies and prompt resolution of potential conflicts.

Change Management:

  • Develop and implement strategies for managing change to facilitate smooth adoption of new technologies and processes across the organization.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels to communicate changes, address concerns, and foster support for transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure that changes are managed in a manner that minimizes disruption to ongoing operations.

Risk & Issue Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with IT transformation projects, focusing on minimizing potential adverse impacts on the business.
  • Maintain a risk register, ensuring that risks are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Escalate significant risks and issues to senior management as necessary, providing recommendations for resolution.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

  • Act as the primary liaison for senior internal stakeholders regarding the status and progress of IT transformation initiatives.
  • Prepare comprehensive status reports, presentations, and updates for the executive team and other key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions to ensure stakeholder alignment and address any challenges or concerns.

Resource Management:

  • Collaborate with resource managers to allocate necessary personnel, technology, and financial resources to support IT transformation projects.
  • Monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations as necessary to ensure effective delivery of transformation initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure they have the resources needed to succeed.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Establish and monitor KPIs and performance metrics to track the progress and success of IT transformation initiatives.
  • Conduct regular reviews of transformation projects to ensure they are on track and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Prepare and support detailed performance reports for senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement best practices and lessons learned from previous IT transformation projects to enhance future initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the IT transformation team, encouraging innovation and the adoption of new approaches.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Over 7 years of experience in IT project management, programme management, or a related field, with at least 3 years focused on IT transformation or large-scale IT change initiatives.
  • Proven success in leading complex consulting-led IT transformation projects in large organizations.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, or similar) are highly desirable.

Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of IT transformation, including cloud migration, digital transformation, and legacy system modernization.
  • Proficiency in project and programme management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Portfolio Management tools).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to executive leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.
